Zucker named president of CNN Worldwide

Veteran news producer and former NBC Universal chief Jeff Zucker will become the president of CNN Worldwide in January, the network announced Thursday.

"Jeff's experience as a news executive is unmatched for its breadth and success," said Phil Kent, chairman and CEO of Turner Broadcasting System, CNN's parent company.

Zucker succeeds Jim Walton who has headed CNN Worldwide since 2003. As president, Zucker will oversee 23 branded news and information businesses, including CNN's U.S. television network, CNN International, HLN and CNN Digital. The latter includes CNN.com, one of the world's leading news websites.

Anyone remember good Bill Tush from the WTCG days? Wish he was still with the Turner family.

    Mr. Zucker

Allow me to introduce myself. I am "the" bobcat (in a hat)©, and on behalf of myself and my blogging friends I would like to congratulate you on your new position.
Now with the pleasantries out of the way, I would like to request that you please take a look at the people who are staffing your This Just In site. I ask this of you because those in authority there have chosen to make light of your long time posters and instead seem to honor the posts of the trolls and name hijackers.
In the past, you hand a great many of us who would post here regularly. But due to the constant deleting of our posts, we are becoming few and far between That is really sad.
I know the chances of you seeing this post are next to nil because even if you did review your various sites, this will probably be deleted within the next five minutes. But at least I got to put my words down for a minute anyway..

    I join you @bobcat in felicitating Mr.Zucker.
However permit to add ( if this thread even exists for him) that do a review also of the slanted and selective reporting we associate US media with.
Fat chance though of that happening.

I remember him, this is the guy that passed on "American Idol" when he was head on NBC saying nobody would ever like a show like that, and was also responsible for the Conan O'Brien/ Jay Leno debacle....GOOD LUCK!!!
