"I think we're going to have a pretty good Christmas," Cindy Hill joked Friday, just minutes after a Missouri lottery official announced that Hill and her family had won half of the record $587.5 million Powerball jackpot.
"We're still stunned by what's happened. It's surreal," Hill said. "Every once in a while you look at each other and say, 'Did we really win that money?'" said the Dearborn, Missouri, resident.
Seated at a table at Dearborn's North Platte R-1 High School, Hill, her husband, Mark, their three grown sons, Jason, Cody and Jarod, and their adopted 6-year-old daughter, Jaiden, joyfully answered questions from the media.

Now Obama has a brand new PUBLIC ENEMY #1
These lottery winners should have kept their winnings private. I would not want to be them right now. Can you imagine how many "friends" and family members are gonna come out of the wood work now wanting money?
It is required to make a media appearance in many states after winning the lottery whether you like it or not!
While many relatives may come of the woodwork, if I were them I would simply maintain relations with the ones I previously had relations with. Don't let your life change in that regard as a result. As for giving money to people, they would be wise to not give money to anyone aside from immediate children and maybe parents. That way no one can expect more or less than anyone else.
Some states reguire you to make one media appearence.. sad but true....
Gee, that could have been 10,000 separate prizes of $30,000 each. (maybe to people who feel $30,000 is Heaven!)
But no no no. The "people" demands ONE BIG PRIZE -how greedy and greedy.
Gee, thats why its called a lottery. Duh
Gee m harr...let me guess...Obama voter? Want something for nothing? Envy? Waiting for hand outs much?
I am totally on board with breaking it into many, many cash prizes of say $1,000,000 each so that they could share the wealth. Who needs that much money? I would prefer ananimity if it were me, especially since you don't know what sort of quacks are out there and my try to extort money by kidnapping etc. First stop... a renowned financial planner...not Madoff! LOL
