Abby Swansiger was a little nervous about heading back to school for the first time since the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School, so she asked her mom to come with her.
Sarah Swansiger said that things went off without a hitch in her daughter's kindergarten class, and everyone was making sure parents and kids felt comfortable at their new school.
"Honestly, it was like the first day of school," Swansiger said, noting there were a few things that were different. "There were counselors; there were therapy dogs. There was a little bit of anxiety, but everyone was ready to get back in the swing of things."
Abby said she was happy to be back and "a little nervous."
"The kids were just happy to be back," her mother said.
So is Abby ready for the days ahead in her new school?
"I think I'll be OK," she said.

I wish these students the very best.
I join you there@banasy.
Our prayers are with them.
Poor babies, how horrid that they should have to go thru something like this! The world is a violent place, but in our country we can do something positive about it! IMHO, guns should have as many laws & restrictions as cars......since cars also don't kill, people do!! 😉
What can you people be thinking? Asking these little children if they think they are going to be safe. This is just plain WRONG! I am so disappointed in CNN.
THANK YOU. I was flabbergasted to say the least. Let's make them relive the nightmare by allowing them to question whether or not they are safe. Disgusted.
I agree @ Barbara, leave them alone already. How can they heal if the media wont let them?
@Barbra Bancroft @chrissy
Agree.
