Indian court charges gang-rape, murder suspects

Five men accused of gang-raping a 23-year-old Indian woman on a New Dehli bus have been formally charged with rape, murder and kidnapping, senior police official Suman Nalwa told CNN.

The attack on the woman, who died from severe injuries last week, has appalled and enraged many Indians, prompting widespread debate over the way the country handles sexual assaults and the treatment of women in Indian society. The trial is expected to begin this week.

No, it was just a mere woman who was beaten so badly on a bus full of people that she dies from her injuries.
    Yeah, you're right.
At least it wasn't a boy.

They don't steal jobs; they are living in their own country.
I can see how you would blame those citezens instead of the companies that outsource.

    good morning all.
    A heinous crime undoubtedly.
Though WE react as if rape & gang rape is an uh heard of phenomenon in this country of ours. Cases of rape & abuse on a daily basis here if one examines the statistics and brutal too, are rather embarrassing.
job stealers?? I tend to agree with @banasy.

      Hi, saywhat.
There were a couple of really ridiculous posts that have since been deleted; those posts are my answering them; first, saying at least it wasn't a boy who was r.aped, (as if this woman doesn't count, her dying and all) and the other, the ever popular "they took our jobs."
You see my answers to both.

They have advanced educations AND electricity provided by the ENRON corporation. Who could possibly compete with Indian citizens now? Not US, as has been made painfully aware lately.

It is a horrific thing just to imagine... too may people saw this take place and yet everyone turned a blind eye to it. Nobody wants trouble or wants to get involved in any problems so people just cowardly walk away these days...and I mean the people across every nation...it's a real shame.

On a serious note: if you choose to leave a comment, at least be respectful of the victim(s) by not being so facetious.

This crime is too gruesome to not have been instigated. Why not try and find the culprit who ordered this heinous crime?
