NRA president defends controversial ad

The president of the National Rifle Association is standing by the group's new controversial ad that has drawn fire for referencing the president's children, a rare move in a political attack.

David Keene told CNN's Wolf Blitzer on Wednesday that the ad is "not about them specifically," arguing the television commercial was more than just about President Barack Obama's children.

Fact: obamas kids are protected by guns in school. Fact: he shot down that idea for every other American school children to have the same protection. HYPOCRACY at its worst. None of these new laws king Obama is demanding would have prevented the last mass shooting. Instead he wants to infringe on law abiding citizens rights. Another fact

In 2011, 10,000 people were shot dead in the US....In Germany 265...In the UK 14...What's that say? We need more guns?

Ok I see that Noone is disagreeing with fact that his kids have protection that our kids don't. His kids need protection from nutjobs no less than ours do right? Also no one can disagree with the FACT that none of these new laws would have changed anything with the last shooting. You can't dispute facts. But let's infringe on our rights shall we

Mr obomba said "if we could save just one life then we have to try". Instead of putting trained people in school in a non right infringing way which would save at least "one life" he goes out and steps on law abiding Americans toes.

@Marlu ya it would make a difference. Current gun control laws( deeming school da gun free zone with a sign advertising to nutcases that noone has a gun to shoot back with while teachers take role call inside of a twelve foot razor wire fence so children can't run) have made modern schools into custom shooting galleries for nutcases. This just makes it that much more difficult to put guns in the correct hands, LAW ABIDING CITIZENS.

People should not be so quick to hate. All of our presidential families have secret service protection. President Obama recommended security protection at schools but he is not forcing every school to have them. What is the matter with people? President Obama is one of the best presidents we have ever had. I admire him and am very thankful he is our president. The NRA's ad is purposefully using our President's children as a pawn, and is more of the attacking, insulting rhetoric we still see with republcian senators. I am for the 2nd amendment, but now I am against the NRA. This presidential campaign showed what liars and decievers the republican candidates are. The way the republican senators show they are going to do absolutely nothing but represent the rich's taxes I am still against all of them too.

Has anyone noticed comments accusing Obama of wanting to take your guns remain posted, whereas those that say Obama just wants guns out of the hands of dopers have all been deleted?

Excuse me, Celia. But president's kids are protected by armed Secret Service agents as always. No-matter where they go, presidents kids are protected. Even if they go to school. None have ever complained before. Why now?
More kids are killed by baseball bats and other hand held objects than by guns. Pro baseball players at every school?
What about the kids on SSRIs that bite other students or stab them with forks? Dentists and plastic forks in each school?

NRA would go to any length, no surprises here.
    @Portland tony
since ' guns don't kill' so we do need more guns, don't take our craziness away from us pl. The solution lies perhaps in having lesser number of kids or no kids at all.

The common denominator in all these shootings is the nut pulling the trigger, swining the bat, stabbing a person or setting off a bomb. What does any of the Obama rules address this area, At one time we put people with Mental Health issues in Hospitals, we stoped this because someone decieded it was costly, I guess its better to loose a few people according into the Liberals. Maby Mexico will have a Fast & Furious program to send wepons back to the US.

As Philip has ALREADY stated EVERY prez with children has had secret service protection, so the comments about HIM thinking his kids are more special than ours is just stupid!!!

And you can't cure stupid. The paranoia in this country is startling.

Paranoia exists on a continuum, ranging from a feeling of distrust due to an occasional misinterpretation of cues that can be appropriately dealt with and reinterpreted, to an overarching pattern of actual paranoia that affects every interpersonal interaction

By the time President Barack H. Obama leaves office, you will see his legacy.
Your Commander in Chief has already arranged for the abolishment of American street gangs. THIS will be what he will be remembered for. There will be movies made about it in the future.

I hope street gangs are abolished, they need to be. All members need to be placed in jail with serious time and effort to correct them, because they are a danger to schools, our children and society and are will still be on the crime road when they get out of school.

Let's all wake up what do you think David Keene and the NRA elite get paid.
If gun owners wanted school etc to be protected let's have a tax on bullets and guns.
We should not have the tax payers foot the bill so that a few can have fun shooting everything inisght.

    Keep smiling
