The Buzz: Fiasco performance ends in ... fiasco

Twitter is still buzzing about rapper Lupe Fiasco’s removal from the stage during a Sunday inauguration concert in Washington.

Concert promoter @hypervocal released a statement saying Fiasco was asked to move on after a “bizarrely repetitive performance that left the crowd vocally dissatisfied.”

Fans are saying anti-Obama rhetoric contained in a song he was performing prompted his removal. We may never know for sure why Fiasco got the hook - but the lyrics to his "Words I Never Said," as posted by Reddit, might provide a clue (contains strong language).

Self-described hip-hop historian and journalist @mrdaveyd blogged about the incident, but admits he wasn’t there.

Reporter @joshrogin was at the concert and tweeted about what he saw:

@Mustafa_Baskal tweeted his support of the rapper:

And Fiasco fans say Lupe’s feelings about the administration are no surprise.

Sandwich watchers still are expressing disappointment after discovering many “5-dollar footlongs” from Subway fall about one inch short. Subway has said the term is a trademark, and the lengths of the actual sandwiches will vary.

@mrwordsworth responded with, “First you tell me the Subway foot long isn’t actually a foot long. Then you’ll tell me Thousand Island Dressing isn’t made with 1000 islands.”

A British grandfather is being hailed as a hero after saving swimmers in Australia from a shark by yanking on the toothy creature's tail. He says the shark snapped at his leg, but missed and then he “pushed it” back into the ocean.

Most of the episode was caught on camera by a television crew that happened to be filming close by.

Would not have selected this guy. But hey, he was allowed to perform, a gracious gift, had his say, and then got shown the way out. How kewl. BTW.......this is not "music."

      He was "invited" to perform.
While I'm no fan, i certainly don't think "Becca" is the arbiter of what music is or is not......

Subway's footlong is not the only thing that comes up short. Do you know why people lose weight eathing their sandwiches? It's because THERE'S ALMOST NOTHING IN THEM ! Looking at their 'subs' is like looking at those 'before and after' weight loss ads. The BEFORE is the plump item you see on TV and the AFTER is the skeleton of a meal that you actually get !!!!!!! Where's the meat ? ? ?

So... What exactly did he say? What was the Anti Obama rhetoric? You'll link to his lyrics, so why not report the rhetoric? When the story was about the performer being removed from the state, would it not be newsworthy to print exactly what he said?

Yet another "entertainer" who has found success by being rude and vulgar. Sort of speaks to his admirers.....doesn't it?

Nope, sure doesn't. I'm sure you're an expert on Lupe's music and message...of course you're not, who am I kidding.

How dare this Fiasco person have an opinion!! I and all other mislead Americans know that the useless killing of every other person of different nationalities is important for us to keep our oil out of their soil and to spread democracy to these people whether they want it or not (Christianity tells us so).
War is the most important thing to our people! Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck are tied for second. Sarcasm comes in third...

Problem is Lupe is another pretentious truther who thinks he knows the political world in its' entirety simply because he recognized things aren't so black and white. (pun not intended) I'm a fan of his music, but of him, not at all. That third twitter comment put it perfectly, Lupe's always vocally anti-something. Picking him for any event was dumb.
