Chelsea star apologizes for kicking ball boy

Eden Hazard, a star for England's Chelsea soccer team, has apologized for kicking a ball boy during a match in Wales on Wednesday, Chelsea says on its website.

The incident happened in Chelsea's Capitol One Cup semifinal game at Swansea City when the ball went out of bounds late in the game with Chelsea needing two goals to force overtime.

"The boy put his whole body onto the ball and I was just trying to kick the ball and I think I kicked the ball and not the boy. I apologize.

'The ball boy came in the changing room and we had a quick chat and I apologized and the boy apologized as well, and it is over. Sorry," the Chelsea website report quoted Hazard as saying.

    Soccer is stupid? You must be kidding, football is stupid a bunch of guys some fat, overweight, hitting each other trying to get to the other side of the field like wrestling. I do not call that a sport , no wonder there is no football international world cup because nobody around the world likes that 'so called' sport overseas except in the US. Soccer is the best with people around the world watching it, soccer world cups around the world in europe, asia, etc. That's the real football overseas that's why we call it football overseas and not soccer like we call it here.

    Soccer is a WORLD SPORT!! My question is WHY did he cover the ball with his body & hold it? Maybe he was for the other side? IF anything the "ball boy" should have been taken off the field!
