Slow hiring barely keeps pace with population growth

The jobs recovery continued to crawl forward in January, as employers hired 157,000 workers, the Labor Department said today.

Job growth at that level is weaker than in December, when employers added 196,000 jobs. For more on this story, go to CNNMoney here.

I expected the jobs to decline in January, all the holiday labor is dismissed.
@Ancient and Hamsta- Congress has not passed any jobs bill President Obama has put before them. Were are all those jobs the wealthy said they would create with those tax breaks? And all jobs that have been created are by small business owners. If this does not make most people see how powerful and intertwined our government is with the people that hold the largest purse strings, America is really in trouble.
