First it was monkeys in space (or not) and now it’s “GI Joe” fighter jets. Not the best of times for Iran’s aviation and aerospace programs, at least if you listen to the skeptics.
First there were doubts about Tehran’s claim it sent a monkey into space in late January. After photos of two different monkeys that were aboard the alleged one-monkey space shot surfaced, Iran media said there was a photo mix-up and, yes, there was just one Iranian monkey in space.
Then this week Iran unveiled what it said was its new high-tech stealth fighter plane. The jet shown in pictures on the website of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has been the butt of jokes all week from aviation bloggers.
“This aircraft looks a lot like an old GI Joe toy,” wrote one blogger.
And from another, “This has to be a joke, right?”

Did anyone else notice it's missing a flight stick?
Isn't it against their religion for a man to expose his erect "flight stick" from between this legs?
What flightstick? They don't need that you control it with your IOS device
Theres an app for that
I bet the engine is from the downed U.S. drone. Hehe.
This looks like a Cobra Command jet.
It is simple. The Iranians lie about everything they do (or do not do). This is a poorly done mockup of an aircraft designed by some Comic Con aficionado. They should have hired Pixar or Industrial Light and Magic to CGI the thing.
As to the monkey shot, show me the monkey! Aw, hey–that's a picture of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
Let's be fair, not all Iranians, just the coo coo government.
It doesn't look like a real plane.
Since its battery operated, I wonder how they're goanna fly it since the sanctions has depleted the sales of batteries. Hehe.
Where are the access panels?
The scale in photo three looks way off. It looks like a group standing under a really large aircraft.
Wouldn't the wheels have a litte give to them if there were any real metal on that ride?
Whether it is a mock-up or not (a video of it or a model of it in flight is available) the concept incorporates some common sense features that would enable it to perform very well in defensive ground support operations. My judgement is on hold.
I would have to see the the vid. This would make C. Yeager think twice about test flight.
I wonder if it can fly!!!
On the third picture you can see planing marks on the so called fuselage. The thing is made out of plywood. LOL.
Idiots
You really want to test its range and effectiveness??? Then why not take it for a test flight near Tel Aviv. Oops, and by the way, don't forget your parachute. Hehehehehehehe.
Ok so here we go again. Wind travels down the edge of the wing. The wing on this fighter is flawed in design. The wing tips will break off at higher speeds as the wind travels down that wing and then will push against the lower portion of the wing tip that is bent in the down position breaking the wing and causing Jehad for Iran.
