Suspect in airplane baby slapping surrenders
An Idaho man accused of uttering a racial slur and slapping a crying 19-month-old boy on a Delta Air Lines flight has surrendered to federal authorities.
Joe Rickey Hundley of Hayden, Idaho, turned himself in to federal officials in Idaho on Tuesday morning, the U.S. attorney's office in Atlanta said.
Hundley was recently charged with assaulting a minor in the February 8 incident. According to court documents, Hundley, during a flight to Atlanta, allegedly told the baby's mother to "shut that (N-word) baby up."
He then turned around and slapped the child in the face with an open hand, according to the documents.

Anyone ever sat next to a parent that let their kid scream on a flight the whole way? Makes you furious. He shouldn't have touched the kid but a slap in the face isn't gonna kill him. No one thinks it's "cute" to hear a baby wail at any public place.

the mother stood up, holding the child, in the back of the plane for most of the flight. The only reason she sat back down was to land. She went above and beyond to accommodate this monster.
Being someone who flys alot, a crying baby is annoying as .. k on a plane.
Ever notice that young children cry on descent? There is a reason for this. At their young age, their ear canals are curved and not as straight as they will be when they are older. Meaning: the pressure of a plane's descent hurts them more than it does adults. The sound of crying babies may not be pleasant but we have to accept it. They are not crying just to irritate us. Leave them and their poor mothers alone.
