Suspect in airplane baby slapping surrenders
An Idaho man accused of uttering a racial slur and slapping a crying 19-month-old boy on a Delta Air Lines flight has surrendered to federal authorities.
Joe Rickey Hundley of Hayden, Idaho, turned himself in to federal officials in Idaho on Tuesday morning, the U.S. attorney's office in Atlanta said.
Hundley was recently charged with assaulting a minor in the February 8 incident. According to court documents, Hundley, during a flight to Atlanta, allegedly told the baby's mother to "shut that (N-word) baby up."
He then turned around and slapped the child in the face with an open hand, according to the documents.

In prison a Guy call "Baby" will slap him for love.
See if he would have belonged to a Union then they wouldn't have been able to just fire him for some charges that have yet to be proven true.
I will sue on top of that jail term. Make the guy peniless
deiscrimination will never stop so lets stop burying our heads in the sand and pretending everything is ( or will be ok) black people hate black people. muslims hate muslims (suni vs shie) white people hate white people. people will find reasons whatever they may be to hate some other person. call it what u may, antisemitism, secterianism, teibalism, or racism i call it stupidity. my point here is there is hateful people (STUPID people) everywhere they just use excueses to transfar their hatefullness to any one (including an innocent baby)
I would have written it this way: "Idaho man boards plane. Black baby starts crying. Expected confrontation brings predictable results. Delta sucks even more now."
So this guy has already been tried and convicted, huh? Something like this would be horrible if it happened, but I will wait to condemn the man until after the trial.
There were plenty of people who said the guy did so, So, yes pretty sure this means guilty. And a bigot!

Not sure who Joe Huntley is but i do know what you mean... and really i get sick of people who hate for no other than being born a color you have no control over. He was probably one of these old guys who walks back and forth up and down the isle the entire trip on the plan. Who sticks their butt on you when they wont go back to their seat and sit down, instead of acting as if the plane is a subway car where you have to stand and hang on.
He's not going to prison for slapping a kid. Dream on.
I doubt the guy actually has a problem with black people, he probably just wanted to say something mean in the heat of the moment. I hope they don't charge him with a hate crime, but I'm sure there's a law against baby-slapping they can stick him with. He'll do well in prison...

really? Who says stuff like the N word unless you can't stand black people. And for god sake this was a baby. Why not choose the word brat, or something relating to a baby? He choose to use a racial slur because he saw a black kid, and both he can't stand.

No excuse for the man's behavior, but have you ever sat on a plane for hours with a screaming baby? They should have isolation seats or maybe parent competency requirements.
By all indications, the child only got loud during the descent (for obvious ear-related reasons).
If you want to not hear loudness during a flight, get headphones and crank up some tunes. Easy fix.

I've wanted slap several adults. I can tolerate children, but when adults whine and cry, I get a little crazy.
How the heck did this guy make it off the plane?? All these people heard and saw his actions, but no one had the balls to effect a citizen's arrest??

HE is from Hayden Lake, just north of Coeur d'Alene, ID where the Nazis had their big compound, for God's sake!! I doubt there are any Democrats that live there, and if there are the would not register as one.
