Justice Department joins Armstrong suit

The U.S. Department of Justice has joined a whistle-blower lawsuit against cyclist Lance Armstrong that was originally filed by a former teammate, an attorney for Armstrong said Friday.

Former Armstrong teammate Floyd Landis, who was stripped of his 2006 Tour de France title after failing a drug test, filed a suit in 2010 against their former team, which was sponsored the U.S. Postal Service.

The lawsuit accused the team's former management of defrauding the government of millions of dollars because the team management knew about team members' drug use and didn't do anything.

Aaahhhh......that's where the money went. Its no wonder USPS is broke and yet upper management keep getting bonuses. If USPS was a private enterprise these execs would have been long gone.

You sir/ma'am need to do more research the USPS is in financial rouble due the Govt mandating that they prefund retirees benefits. All states are required to for Govt employees as well but GA has failed to do so. Politicians we need to fire all of them and start over with new people and not with anyone related to any in office today!

Justice Department can join suit against individuals but individuals can sue Eric Holder for walking guns to Mexico and who is at least guilt of conspiracy to commit murder. The country is really screwed up.
At least these guys have finally fessed up to their wrong doing. Holder never will.

Since the USPS apparently admits it came out ahead by 100 million or so in revenue generated by the sponsorship deal I'm not sure what they think they can get out of him. The sponsorship deal is long over now and wherever that money came from the USPS sure isn't giving it back.

What a ridiculous waste of taxpayer dollars.

Funny how the DOJ will go after a biker that used PED's but will let the bankers and stock manipulators go on for years stealing from us and not do a thing. Lance should have found a way to pay them off like the rest do and this wouldn't have happened. Like an individual said, "He is screwed now".
