California Gov. Jerry Brown reversed a decision to grant parole to Bruce Davis, a former follower of Charles Manson.
"When considered as a whole, I find the evidence ... shows why he currently poses a danger to society if released from prison," the governor wrote.
Brown's office had received a formal recommendation from the state board parole Friday to release Davis, 70, who would have been the first Manson "family" member to secure freedom solely for good behavior.
FULL STORY
Uh, HELL NO. Gov. Brown, excellent call, sir.
Good for Governor Brown!
It was only because of a quirk in the application of the death penalty that Manson and his followers were not executed decades ago. None of them should ever be free.
In 1969, the Manson Family had this country shuddering. And for good cause. Gov Jerry Brown is essentially saying here, the penal system is only good for incarceration, and in some cases worthless in rehabilitation of some others. So in California where nobody cares a gallon of milk is almost $6.00, I wonder why taxpayers have been burdened with this the last 41 years, and why Davis wasn't simply executed back in 1972? Well? Just sayin.
Agree @ Jeff Frank. Sometimes these flawed laws need to be revisited. For the greater good.
Back in 1969 I was only 7 and remember the fear that was going around the country when Manson and his followers terrorized this country. Davis should have been executed then.
Hello Dazz stop by the FL sink hole story. HAPPY BIRTHDAY.
@1608 I am on my way. Tried to post over there but got declined 3 times. Thanks so much..
I'm sorry Mr. Brown, did I upset you? Maybe I need to go along with the program a little. On reciept of your next fat paycheck, you should treat Davis right and go to Walmart and buy him a real nice 60" flatscreen to watch while he rots in jail.
Do you think that if Manson and his followers HAD been executed back then, the price of your milk would be any lower, Jeff? Or is it better that he be released now?
