China: U.S. risks antagonizing North Korea

The United States' plans to beef up its missile defenses against North Korea are likely to inflame tensions that are running high over Pyongyang's nuclear program, China said Monday.

"Bolstering missile defenses will only intensify antagonism, and it doesn't help to solve the issue," Hong Lei, a spokesman for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said at a regular news briefing in Beijing.

Has the USA's defence deteriorated so much that we have to be intimidated by the possibility of our antagonism of North Korea?
Are we already basing our defence strategies on what China says?
Weakness is not all it's cracked up to be.

If countries continues to build ridiculous defense systems and mechanisms, it clearly shows that humans have not evolved and much less grown trustworthy of each other.

We are regressing. We have regressed within the past 30 years. There is no evolution. The technology has left us behind. It evolves while society crumbles.

unfortunetly people Iran call us a bluff so n. korea is following suit. now its either we put up or shut up now or be seen across the world as the bully. and yes they do apparently have missiles to hit us along with Iran if they team up. and china don't forget them, they are saying our actions are wrong now, so you can just imagine that they will back north korea.

So what does North Korea look like when they've been "antagonized"? Do they conduct nuclear and long range missile tests? Do they lob mortars into South Korea? Sink South Korean ships? Kidnap citizens of nearby nations? Support terrorism? Imprison dissidents in their own nation? They've already done all that, so what's the difference?

    "Likely to inflame tensions" ?
The tensions are already all time high. Thanks to a policy of provocation sans reason pursued by the wise policy makers this country of ours has been 'blessed' with for the past 11 yrs.
