Gun store nixes Mark Kelly's purchase

An Arizona gun store says it has canceled a recent purchase of an AR-15 semiautomatic rifle by Mark Kelly thwarting the retired astronaut's attempt to demonstrate how easy it is to buy high-powered weapons.

Kelly, the husband of former Rep. Gabby Giffords and an outspoken advocate for new gun control measures, had in recent interviews said he was buying the rifle to showcase what he said are unobtrusive background checks.

Doug MacKinlay, owner of Diamondback Police Supply, said it was Kelly's statements that caused him to stop the sale.

Yea I'm sure the "rocket scientist" didn't do it just to get free publicity for their gun "control" group. Give me a break, I can by buy one too, I have a valid I.D. and O'm not a felon, but I'm sure being an astronaut and the husband of a former politician actualy did make it easy(er). I got an idea, go to the "bad side" of town and try to buy one out of the trunk of a car from an actual outlaw gun dealer, and leave the law abiding gun store oiwners alone! Then we'll have a "story", I'm sure theres plenty of "bad" guns around thanks to our "Glorious AG" Mr Holder, yea t

Mr. Kelly, just visit Indiana ANY weekend of the year. Google "gun show Indiana". They have gun shows, where anyone can buy anything. This is where the Chicago guns all come from...the great Hoosier state.

If Mr. Kelly did not intend to be the owner of the firearm, then he may be in violation of the law. There is a question on the FBI form that asks this very question (whether you as the purchaser are the intended owner), and answering in a misleading way, as stated on the form, is a violation of law.

Criminals dont purchase guns legally as a rule. So this gun control issue is moot. They need to enforce the rules already in place and go after the criminal eliment not law abiding citizens. And new laws will work no better than old ones if no one is enforcing them.
