Powerball winner owes child support

The winner of last week's $338 million Powerball jackpot is expected to appear in a New Jersey court Monday on a warrant for unpaid child support.

Pedro Quezada, 44, the father of five children ages 5 to 23, owes back child support totaling $29,000, according to William Maer of the Passaic County Sheriff's Office. It is not clear which children would be covered by the payments.

Before anyone starts to judge, there are a lot of unanswered questions about this situation.
Has the father been paying what he could
    Was the Father employed
Very sloppy reporting @ Cnn... Very sloppy !
How much child support does he pay each month verses how much he makes and his own expenses
And as for BOTH parents ... If you can't afford a big family DON'T have so many kids ! Hence, birth control

OK Mary, I totally aree with you on this one. Plus, IF the story is accurate, and with the money he just won, why not just pay what he owes, maybe some extra, and be done with it?

In the article posted about this man last week, a NJ official stated that anyone who wins over 600 dollars is automatically run through the system for any liens and child support, and what he owes is deducted from his winnings.
This is, of course, how they found out about him, and somebody leaked it to the press; for what possible purpose, I don't know.

All right, CNN has found fit to block my post.
They run winners names to see if there are any liens. They will deduct the amount owed from his winnings. If the mothers take him back to court, they can receive more support, as his income will have gotten larger. It'll be paid.
Not every sordid detail of his past has to come out; it is wholly nunya. Gracious!

Every parent has a legal responsibility to provide for the care of his or her child. child support lawyer is a court-ordered financial payment from one or both parents to provide financial support for their children’s living expenses and healthcare costs. Child support payments are a complicated issue and are often a source of contention during divorce cases.
