DIDJA KNOW
The Gettysburg address is 269 words, the Declaration of Independence
is 1,337 words, and the Holy Bible is only 773,000 [I don't know what
version the author was referring to] words. However, the tax law has
grown from 11,400 words in 1913, to 7 million words today.
The IRS sends out 8 billion pages of forms and instructions each
year. Laid end to end, they would stretch 28 times around the earth.
Nearly 300,000 trees are cut down yearly to produce the paper for all
the IRS forms and instructions.
The IRS employs 114,000 people; that's twice as many as the CIA and
five times more than the FBI.
Taxes eat up 38.2% of the average family's income; that's more than
for food, clothing and shelter combined.
File your taxes electronically! Then you can waste time watching that stupid trial! Jeez
I did my taxes electronically two months ago and have aleady received my refunds. Now I'm just sitting back watching everyone else running around crazy trying to get it all done. Procrastination to we american is like, Baseball, Hot Dogs, Apple Pie and Chevrolet.
A herd of buffalo can only move as fast as the slowest buffalo,
and when the herd is hunted, it is the slowest and weakest ones
at the back that are killed first. This natural selection is good for
the herd as a whole, because the general speed and health of the
whole group keeps improving by the regular killing of the weakest
members.
In much the same way, the human brain can only operate as fast
as the slowest brain cells. Excessive intake of alcohol, we all
know, kills brain cells, but naturally it attacks the slowest and
weakest brain cells first. In this way, regular consumption of beer
eliminates the weaker brain cells, making the brain a faster and
more efficient machine.
And that's why you always feel smarter after a few beers.
A visitor from Holland was chatting with his American friend
and was jokingly explaining about the red, white and blue in
the Netherlands flag.
"Our flag symbolizes our taxes," he said. "We get red when
we talk about them, white when we get our tax bill, and blue
after we pay them."
"That's the same with us," the American said, "only we see
stars, too."
🙂
Too, too true!
