Inquest opens in Ireland abortion row death

An inquest into the death of an Indian dentist in Ireland after she was reportedly denied an abortion for her miscarrying fetus is due to open Monday in Galway.

The death of Savita Halappanavar at University Hospital Galway on October 28, 2012, prompted anger in Ireland and elsewhere, and sparked demands for Ireland to introduce new abortion laws.

The Halappanavar family says Savita died of blood poisoning after doctors declined to abort her miscarrying fetus because of Ireland's strict laws. Her husband says she was advised her unborn baby would likely die.

Praveen Halappanavar says his wife, who was in extreme pain, asked for the abortion, but was told that Ireland is a Catholic country and an abortion could not be done while the fetus was alive.

More details may emerge at Monday's hearing into the events leading to the 31-year-old's death.

"Her husband says she was advised her unborn baby would likely die."
If the baby was in the mist of dying and the mother along with that baby, this would be the ONLY situation were I would condone an abortion.
Now the husband not only lost the child, but the wife as well...

This woman did not have the right to choose to live because "Ireland is a Catholic country."
Having a law that requires a woman to die for a miscarrying fetus is primitive, depraved, and evil.

That is exactly what I was saying @ Joey, This is where we both can agree regarding the issue of abortion.
Good Morning 🙂 What's on your agenda for the day?

I was up too early, but checked back and saw your comment. Today is full.

@ Joey, It is nice when we do agree, even if only in certain areas of a subject. I also responded to your Franz Liszt post on the "China closes poultry" blog... Not in love with all I've heard so far (some are just too long or not my taste)
    Have a great day 🙂

you babykillers are amazing...to drag a dead corpse from its grave to advocate/lie for your deadly cause...you convinced a 17year old who was being pressured by parents to unwittingly co-operate with the lies before the supreme court in america...such an unsavory cruel bunch...the world is on to you and can't wait to see your erroneous principles are rejected and put to rest...from my mouth to god's ears...there should be a tribunal held for your crimes against the dignities of life and humanity...

@RR, this is not the same story as the one in the states. What baby killers are you speaking of?

it is too the same...these abortion lobbyists manipulating overrulling strategies it employs to override the will of the people to impose its babykilin' agenda ...regardless whether it is stateside or somewhere else in the world...it is just plain arrogant...like those who uses their millions of their billions: Tarzan and Jane exhorting mothers in third world countries to view their babies as erroneous kill and burden to them and society...the nerve and without an ounce of shame...her population control is a sham! anyone endorsing the killing of a child in its mother's womb is a babykillers and anyone supporting encouraging laws and policies condoning and protecting atrocities against the unborn are
      also babykillers!

There is probably no death penalty in Ireland, but it is what doctors and Irish lawmakers deserve for murdering this woman because she was pregnant in a Catholic country.
