Gotta Watch: Best White House Correspondents' Dinner zingers

All presidents have to put up with a daily barrage of jokes at their expense, but it's not too often that they get to turn the tables. The White House Correspondents' Dinner, unofficially dubbed "nerd prom," offers one of those rare opportunities. President Obama finally got to let loose and make some jabs at a captive room of reporters, politicians, and celebrities. Check out some of our favorite zingers from the president and host Conan O'Brien.

Obama rips on GOP

President Obama looked like he enjoyed bringing up last year's election to his right-wing opponents. See his jab at the GOP, and watch Newt Gingrich's reaction.

Obama lets his hair down

First lady Michelle Obama's bangs seemed to get more publicity than the president got when she debuted her look in January. See the president hop on the bandwagon.

Hollywood Look-alikes

Conan O'Brien describes Washington's movie doppelgangers. See which D.C. power players he says look like Grandpa Munster, tan mom, and Ralphie from "A Christmas Story."

Obama roasts himself

President Obama turns his jokes on himself, saying he's not "the strapping young Muslim socialist" that he used to be. Hear him descibe his "rookie mistakes."

Conan checks CNN

Correspondents' Dinner Host Conan O'Brien rips into CNN and its ratings. See Piers Morgan react when he's called out by name.

I was trying to compare the suspicion of use of small amount of a banned substance on Syrian population, by whom? is not known. The outcry & ruckus.
And our & other world leaders looking the other way when chemical weapons are used on population by an 'ally'.

Your comment really bothers me because the sum of the keystrokes (disregarding spaces) is divisible by 2 but not 3. A perfect comment is divisible by both.

"Media Bias: A basketball coach who shoves and curses at his players merits constant coverage by a media also transfixed by Newtown. But a Philadelphia doctor on trial for murdering a woman and seven babies? It's ignored.

"Those who get their news from the three major networks have probably not heard of Dr. Kermit Gosnell, now on trial in Philadelphia, charged with seven counts of first-degree murder and one count of third-degree murder for killing seven babies who survived abortions and a woman who died after a botched pain-killer injection . . .

"According to the Media Research Center, in one week Rice received 41 minutes, 26 seconds of air time on ABC, CBS and NBC in 36 separate news stories. Gosnell received zero coverage . . .

"If Dr. Gosnell had walked into a nursery and shot seven infants with an AR-15, it would be national news and the subject of presidential hand-wringing."

Mary, why are you putting everything in quotes? Oh by the way, you are a relic from yesteryear. Post natal is now advocated by Planned P'hood, and our president supports Planned P'hood. A politician should not get between a woman and her health care provider. If I pay for a procedure, I do not intend to walk out with biological tissue that was supposed to be discarded.

The guy should be punished. What he did is criminal and he should be punished or put to sleep. That being said, if you dont like abortion, dont have one.

Very good Mary. Seems not all events needing more coveraged are getting covered. Seems to an old city slicker like me that news helps the world go round...tap tap...a note on the kitchen table. Hiding behind computers or phone screens is not the way to go. Think about that one. 🙂

Well, he also likes restoring the American economy, saving our auto industry, making healthcare more affordable for Americans, looking out for the middle class, the poor and our seniors, ending the illegitimate Iraqi war, setting a deadline to end the Afghan war, killing Bin Laden and many other al Qaeda operatives, restoring our image, trust and credibility abroad and so on...O' by the way, he also likes winning the Noble Peace Prize!

Surely you jest. He's accomplished those things in your imagination and in the talking points of the propagandistic cheerleader sources you believe. Saved the auto industry... tell that to pontiac and saturn. Restoring the economy ... highest labor pool nonparticipation in history, one in five on food stamps, seventeen trillion in debt, printing a trillion a year to de value the dollar. Wait, were you being sarcastic?
