Abortion doctor guilty of murder

A jury Monday found a Philadelphia abortion provider guilty of three counts of first-degree murder.

Dr. Kermit Gosnell, 72, was accused of killing babies by using scissors to cut their spinal cords. Authorities alleged that some of the infants were born alive and viable during the sixth, seventh and eighth months of pregnancy.

Monday's first-degree murder conviction means Gosnell, who is not a board-certified obstetrician or gynecologist, could be sentenced to death.

Gosnell also was accused in the death of Karnamaya Mongar, 41, who died of an anesthetic overdose during a second-trimester abortion at his West Philadelphia clinic. In that case, the jury found him guilty of involuntary manslaughter.

Gosnell was also found guilty of 21 counts of abortion of the unborn, 24 weeks or older.

In Pennsylvania, abortions past 24 weeks are illegal unless the health of the mother is at stake.

    And just so all you GOP supporters know, Superman doesnt really exist! Hes a cartoon character. So dont place those expectations on our POTUS! He cant do everything which is WHY we have Congress! They are supposed to work WITH the prez FOR the citizens of the US!

      Lowering out debt? You really can't be serious. President Obama added eight trillion in just four years and the debt is expected to be twenty trillion by the time he is done. What an unbelievable comment. Seriously

    @stuart. No. it is $16 trillion. G.W. accounted for over $10 billion of that. He raided the U.S. Treasury, Social Security, and the General Fund to give social welfare tax checks to all Americans. Clinton had us in a surplus, but with G. W. we are in the red. Obama must spend billions to fix Bush's mess.

It is natural for the right wing fanatics to turn a blind eye to the fact that we are where we are because the Clinton administration gave us the most prosperity than any other president since the roaring 20's, but the republican, G.W. Bush was irresponsible and now people blame Obama who inherited Bush's historical and monumental failure.

    @stuart. Of couse a war that had absolutley nothing to do with 9/11 at a cost of $10 billion a month didn't help either. Ten billion. To help understant the gravity of the finacial cost that is:
    10,000,000,000 x 12 months x many years is how much? Oops, my calculater doesn't go that high.

    There is a long list of presidents that failed since Woodrow Wilson. Fact is most were republicans that outspent democrates. Reagan spent so much in military defense that we went broke.He is one of the biggest spenders of all times just like george.
