Report: North Korea launches short-range missiles

North Korea launched three short-range guided missiles into the sea off the Korean Peninsula's east coast Saturday, South Korea's semi-official news agency Yonhap cited the South Korean Defense Ministry as saying.

The ministry said it had detected two launches in the morning, followed by another in the afternoon, Yonhap reported.

The missiles were fired in a northeasterly direction, away from South Korean waters, the ministry said.

South Korea has beefed up monitoring on North Korea and is maintaining a high-level of readiness to deal with any risky developments, the ministry added, according to Yonhap.

I just wish I could figure out their criteria. They have deleted harmless posts of mine but left up a couple that I admitted went too far, even after clicking "report abuse" on my own comment.

Middle East after the Brits relinquished its destiny to us had been a gold mine for us. Their petro dollars filled our coffers while a steady supply of oil was guaranteed.
had we maintained a balanced foreign policy without sacrificing our interests to that of our closest 'closest ally' things would be different today with the entire region alligned with us.

Saudi Arabia and the Emirates under its influence & Iraq were allies and Libya & Egypt in Arab Africa were no threat. With the exception of Syria which has traditionally been aligned with Russia , M.East was never a threat or 'terrorised' us.

We can still regain our footing, prestige & credibility in the region and thwart efforts by Russia & china to expand their influence. Only if we get honestly serious in resolving festering issues like Israel-palestine conflict, wind up in Iraq and Afghanistan by taking on board neighboring countries for bringing stability.

Get serious in resolving differences with Iran. In Libya our policy of military intervention to topple Ghaddafi failed in 'rebirth' of Libya. The Syrian implosion also worked against the stability of the region and our interests. These issues need rationale and foresight to handle.

I invite all fellow bloggers to watch 35 fotos of Rumsfeld cosying upto Saddam during his visit to Iraq in Dec of 1983 as a especial envoy of Ronald Reagan. it would give you an idea of how comfortable we were in M.East until the crazy Bush-Cheney-Wolfowitz 'doctrine' destroyed all that.
