Report: North Korea launches short-range missiles

North Korea launched three short-range guided missiles into the sea off the Korean Peninsula's east coast Saturday, South Korea's semi-official news agency Yonhap cited the South Korean Defense Ministry as saying.

The ministry said it had detected two launches in the morning, followed by another in the afternoon, Yonhap reported.

The missiles were fired in a northeasterly direction, away from South Korean waters, the ministry said.

South Korea has beefed up monitoring on North Korea and is maintaining a high-level of readiness to deal with any risky developments, the ministry added, according to Yonhap.

    It would be in our interest to keep military involvment in N.korea and also in Syria off the table.

    @Portland tony had rightly said in his post of May 18, that 1.4 m North army with their arsenal can put up a good fight and the cost to us in lives & treasure would be too high. not to mention the destruction in South & neighboring Japan.

    Ty @ saywhat, ive tried posting about that very topic! It was a monster tornado. They say on cnn that it will have covered more than 500,000 square miles. And it leveled an elementary school while the children were there! My prayers go out to all of them.
