Defense: Martin's 'hostile' texts matter

Text messages sent from Trayvon Martin's cell phone the day he was killed show he had been arguing with someone on the phone and was "hostile," attorneys for George Zimmerman wrote in a recent court filing.

Zimmerman's lawyers argue the texts are relevant to the case, in which the unarmed teenager was fatally shot by the neighborhood watch volunteer during a confrontation in a Sanford, Florida, neighborhood in February 2012.

The texts speak to Martin's demeanor and emotional state, the Thursday filing said, and "may assist the jury in understanding why Trayvon Martin chose to hide then confront George Zimmerman rather than simply going home."

The filing said the texts were mostly with "Witness 8," and the messages showed Martin and the friend were "hostile and angry with each other at various points throughout the day."

self-inflicted at the least...and victim beating zimmermann for his life at the most...there's only so much you can do with an aluminum can full of tea against a paranoid racist armed with a gun...calling is NEIGHBOR suspicious...he never did answer the dispatcher's question as to exactly what suspicious activity he observed...

@ Pete, i already know this. AND he was TOLD by the 911 operator to NOT go after this kid! He CHOSE to take the law into his own hands just as he CHOSE to take Trevon Martins life! Therefore, guilty as charged!

And what makes him a racist pig is his statement TO the 911 operator that he was following a "black" boy in his neighborhood where no black boys should be! And his story has changed half a dozen times making him sound guilty as hell!

Get your facts right. He only said he was black in response to a question asked by the 911 operator.

@truth,sorry bud Zimmerman made a couple of derogatory statements while explaining to the police dispatcher what he saw about Trayvon while reporting in..Zimmerman sat in the store lot watching Trayvon buy ice tea, skittles then followed him back to their community ,isn't that stalking ,it is in my book nomatter where you're from and illegal as well, seems weird if this does seem premeditated doesn't it..In return he was told by said dispatcher to stay put, stay in his car and wait till officers arrived,he did neither...Zimmerman made an enormous amount of erroneous calls monthly as community watch volunteer and had by authorities been warned...And remember as my responses have been deleted I hope that this community has liability insurance as well as Zimmerman being bonded because of his having a gun while being a volunteer is illegal even having a concealed permit under community watch rules nationwide, police didn't know he was armed at first as well...And tell me truth why would a volunteer have marks on his head, be jailed after being free for weeks and weeks later show those marks publicly after his hiding from his supposid attorneys, hiding his passports and not talking about his secret web site taking in thousands and a major contributor was the NRA giving him legal aid as well with their corporate attorneys!!!.I live in Florida and its big news down here and truth trust me I've definitly gotten more on this story than most here can think of,even you..Zimmerman will go down and his alibis will come back to haunt him, just wait ,I can't!!

Since CNN deleted it, I'll post the truth again. He'll be found not guilty, very quickly, due to reasonable doubt. He has raised a self defense claim, which is supported by injuries, photographed, and logged by several EMS and police. At least two 911 callers say he was on the ground being pummeled.

Remember – defense doesn't need to PROVE innocence, just give the jury reasonable doubt. Curb your anger folks. There is plenty of reasonable doubt.

Pete, your theory may be true but it is unproven. It is up to the prosecution to prove this. The bitter reality here is, due to Zimmerman's injuries, his self defense claim will fly with a truly impartial jury.

      Reasonable doubt.

Besides, Murder is functionally legal in Florida. Lets just hope that if Zimmerman walks, he stays in Florida and doesn't bother any of us here in the First World.

“To be honest with you, the whole time I forgot that I had the gun. When he said I was going to die and I felt him brushing, it automatically clicked he was going for my gun"

    GEORGE ZIMMERMAN

If George had forgotten his gun then Trayvon Martin would be in jail right now for assault and battery. And all his excuses about how he was chased for three minutes only to end up in the same place he was three minutes before would only go to prove he hunted down Zimbot and then beat him up.

I don't think Zimmerman's "courage" in confronting the hooded Martin arose from anything but ......being armed.

Or Trayvon would be in jail for murdering Zimmerman with his own gun...

So if Martin had gotten the gun away from his cowardly attacker, and shot him, he would have then been standing his ground, right? This is Florida, and the guy with the gun gets the benefit of the doubt. If Martin deserved to live, he would have had a gun too!

Here's another thing to chew on – if Zimmerman was hunting Martin down with the intent to murder him, why did he lay back and take such a beating?

Why was Zimmerman seen strattling Trayvon's dead body? Even Zimmerman said that he didn't try to save him. He was just making sure he did the job right the first time.

Lol @ Pt, especially a teenager! Anyone in their right mind thats confronted by a lunatic with a gun is gonna try and put up a fight for their life! And i find it odd that these "supposed" injuries that Zimmerman sustained didnt come out to the police or press IMMEDIATELY! In fact it was several days, probably after he was coached. And then theres also the issue of lying about the funds he had AND the second passport. All these actions just scream GUILTY!
