Insanity plea OK'd in theater shootings

The judge in James Holmes' murder trial accepted his plea of not guilty by reason of insanity Tuesday.

The suspect in last summer's shooting spree that killed 12 people and wounded dozens at an Aurora, Colorado, movie theater will be taken to the Colorado Mental Health Institute at Pueblo for evaluation.

He's expected to be returned to the Arapahoe County Jail on August 2.

Judge Carlos Samour Jr.'s ruling Tuesday came about a month after Holmes' attorneys asked to change his plea from a standard not guilty. The original not-guilty plea was entered by a judge on Holmes' behalf in March, over his objection, his defense team said.

So there's these 2 muffins in an oven.

They're both sitting, just chilling and getting baked.

And one of them yells "God Damn, it's hot in here!"

And the other muffin replies "Holy Crap, a talking muffin!"

A man and his wife were having an argument about who should brew the coffee each morning.

The wife said, "You should do it, because you get up first, and then we don't have to wait as long to get our coffee".

The husband said, " You are in charge of the cooking around here and you should do it, because that is your job, and I can just wait for my coffee."

Wife replies, "No you should do it, and besides it is in the Bible that the man should do the coffee."

Husband replies, " I can't believe that, show me."

So she fetched the Bible, and opened the New Testament and shows him at the top of several pages, that it indeed says:

Too bad someone can do what he did and still be alive nearly one year later. Hardly seems fair to the victims

Of course he's not sane, I don't think anyone is arguing that. The question is, what do we do with him? I'm sure he'll end up in some nice Club Med of a facility on the taxpayer's dollar.

While his crimes were heinous, what we do with this wayward soul is a reflection of us, and how civilized and compassionate we are! We should study and examine him to find the motive for this senseless act and strive to heal him. In a manner, he is a victim himself. Nobody cared enough about him to intervene before this happened, and now he has to live with the horror of what he has done. He is one of us, so we are all partly to blame.

Not guilty by reason of insanity. Sounds reasonable.

Of course he's insane. I think anyone who plans to/and follows through with murdering 1 person or 100s of people is insane. But the fact that he planned and followed through on this crime is the definite factor in a one way pass to death row or life w/o parole.

People wonder why these shootings occur, yet again this nut job gets his day of fame. Just hang him on the court house lawn at noon and let him hang for 3 days like they did in the old days when there were less liberals and more people who provided for themselves!
