Not long after the United States said it will start arming Syrian rebels, Syria's longtime ally Russia fired back by saying the move supports those "who kill their enemies and eat their organs."
The latest dispute sets a riveting backdrop to the Group of Eight summit in Northern Ireland on Monday, where the Syrian civil war will likely top the agenda among eight of the world's most powerful countries.
On Monday, Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Barack Obama will meet one-on-one to discuss the war that has now killed more than 92,000 people - including thousands of children.

Nor do they mind if they taint the soil samples. Nor do they mind inventing evidence, Just like they invented WMD's in Iraq and once again it was McCain that was pushing that very hard.
McCain needs to retire; that being said, he is one of the more moderate Republicans we see in Congress. And that doesn't bode well for the future.
Some of the accusations are coming from a French news team “lamond” Some of the footage they took in which they claim sarin was used shows one insurgent having time to “puff”(not sure what she means here) before putting on his mask
Good morning@bobcat. Your poignant sarcasm is well placed.
A quagmire if you ask me (of the making of players involved) ready to suck the US into its bottomless depths. Yes yet again the neocons, the war mongers in fact the War party wins.
@ Cnn, Of course without fail you prevent me from posting my replies in one comment and now are blocking me. I will try and post the rest later. Good day all
****SARCASM ALERT. Yes it would appear that you have been having difficulty getting your point across so far on this thread.
Russia and Syria = good
Everyone else = bad
Israel = really bad
OK, got it.
blocked just like other friends.
And yet we get involved in another war on the other side of the globe that does not concern us.
Russian rhetoric: “who kill their enemies and eat their organs.”
Please.
Say it with me, folks: "same as it ever was."
No US boots on Syrian soil.
“who kill their enemies and eat their organs.”
This kind of statement reminds me eerily of the Nazi German propaganda that was put out about its Jewish citizens. Beware.
Same as it ever was.
@Bombo
And your sarcasm is ill placed my esteemed fellow blogger.
No one is saying Russia+Syria =good.
The reality on the ground as to the make up of rebels and their intent is there for all to see & learn.
As for Israel being bad, well their intent as those of their ally in need S.Arabia in the region is also well known.
Us has to exercise wisdom & foresight in not getting involved in another proxy war taking the risk of stepping into another quagmire like Iraq & Afghanistan. We can hardly afford it.
Syria has no intention of letting the US instal a puppet leader. As for Assad, he is the lesser of two evils for now. Adding to the fact that Russia has said they will not allow a no-fly-zone to be imposed over Syria.
The world can hardly afford to sustain a post Assad Syria taken over by the rebels.
OTOH, there may not be any citizens left if things keep going the way they are...
Its high time the U.S., Ruskies and the Chicoms make the middle east "clean up thier own mess".
