Group apologizes to gay community, shuts down

After 37 years, Exodus International, an organization whose mission was to "help" gay Christians become straight, is shutting down. But not before issuing an apology.

"We're not negating the ways God used Exodus to positively affect thousands of people, but a new generation of Christians is looking for change - and they want to be heard," said Tony Moore, a board member of Exodus.

The announcement comes less than a day after Exodus issued a wide-ranging apology to the gay community for "years of undue judgment by the organization and the Christian Church as a whole," a statement from the group says.

They are saying it's all about the money. They know it doesn't matter one way or the other, but the money dried up.

LIBERTY HILL, TX - "Police entered the backyard of an innocent family, in which children and a dog were playing, and shot a German Shepherd named Vinny as it approached the officers.

The address on the warrant was for a completely different town: Cedar Park, TX.
The officers were dispatched to arrest a man who had not renewed his vehicle registration. The government felt they were owed money, so they sent armed enforcers to collect."

Exodus and most members of the Christian community have had a devastating effect on the lives of lesbians and gay men. An apology from Exodus would be like a mass murderer's polite apology after being found guilty: insufficient.

Before the APA removed varying orientation from its list of mental disorders decades ago, primitive psychiatrists did as much damage to those of different orientation as relatively less educated Christian preachers, but the preachers made more money than the medical doctors on that scam. See: Fund, discretionary.
