Edward Snowden leaves Hong Kong

The global cat-and-mouse hunt for Edward Snowden took a drastic turn Sunday when the man wanted on U.S. espionage charges left Hong Kong and was flying over Russian airspace.
And he left with the help of WikiLeaks, who assisted with Snowden's "political asylum in a democratic country, travel papers (and) safe exit from Hong Kong." the group said on Twitter.

Dick Cheney say that Edward Snowden is a traitor.
That's right the same Dick Cheney who was secretary of Defense while his company made millions of dollars in defense-related contracts

    Good morning all.
As Sen Rand Paul said"history will judge Snowden as hero for privacy if he does not pass on state secrets to our enemies".
    That has to be established.
As for Dick Cheney@Mary, this man should have been in the dock for crimes against America & humanity but a befuddled public kept mostly in the dark, misled & lied to failed in its duty to the country.

Morning @saywhat. The only secrets to hide are those to the people of each respective country as all heads of each nation know what's going on... not news for them.

As for Snowden. He was the same man who gave up a 200k a year job in Hawaii and a hot girl friend to expose govt corruption

Got on a plane with irrefutable evidence that the govt has been spying on us for years. Presented the American people with the truth about who our leaders really are.

I tend to agree with you there @Mary
The 'state secrets' charge is more likely to be perceived and treated as a political.
Then of course our tactics in the past 11 yrs have made us so 'popular' , 'credible', 'honest' and bearer of the 'torch' worldwide that populace everywhere would support what we do with enthusiasm. Sarcasm Alert.

    Sarcasm Alert still on.
In this case for example it is well nigh impossible to determine which side should be charged with 'espionage'?

Good morning to you also @ Mary and @ saywhat! I can only speak for myself but this whole thing just sickens me! We are supposed to be the greatest nation on Earth, and it turns out we are really the most devious! Our governments priorities are so screwed up i hardly know where to begin. We have veterans returning home to no jobs, their homes in_foreclosure and being totally disrespected by the government they've vowed to protect and serve! Senior citizens who've worked their whole lives only to learn their social security funds have been mismanaged and they are losing their medical coverage or paying even more for it! And theres more....

Lol @ saywhat. I would classify Snowden as a whistle blower seeing the definition being: A person who makes public disclosure of corruption or wrongdoing. As for our past, there is plenty of history to point a finger back to the US govt their pal.

Also we have children in this great nation that go to bed hungry, and even some who dont even have beds nor homes to sleep in. And yet we are giving billions of dollars away every year in foreign aid! And then on top of all of that, we have this supposed war on terror. Thats the biggest joke of all since our government is supplying arms and anti tank and anti aircraft misiles to the very people we are supposedly at war with!!! HOW do these clowns sleep at night is what i want to know? They should be so ashamed of theirselves! Disgusting is what they are!
