Edward Snowden leaves Hong Kong

The global cat-and-mouse hunt for Edward Snowden took a drastic turn Sunday when the man wanted on U.S. espionage charges left Hong Kong and was flying over Russian airspace.
And he left with the help of WikiLeaks, who assisted with Snowden's "political asylum in a democratic country, travel papers (and) safe exit from Hong Kong." the group said on Twitter.

There is something "rotten in Denmark" when a nation like ours has more people on payroll chasing "evil doers" than there are actual "evil doers"..

NSA would have eliminated Mr Snowden, if he possessed any information that would gravely put the US at risk. What's at issue here is that he publicly embarrassed the NSA as to their "transparency when it comes to Government "secrets". Lets face it....there is no place on earth that the US can't get to him and do evil deeds. This is all show and political maneuvering and that's exactly why we are getting zero cooperation from our "allies" Regardless, Snowden has accomplished what he set out to do......start a public dialog about the government's intrusion into our daily life! 🙂

What intrusion tony? There is no intrusion.
This "intrusion" that u and others speak of could have stopped...

Me, I could care less....but future generations may object to having every word they've ever said on somebody's database.

I am in total agreement with you @ Portland tony! What DOES tick me totally off is the lies and decietfulness. Meanwhile they are basically stealing OUR tax dollars to fund the very terrorists that we are SUPPOSED to be at war with while at the same time borrowing money from the very country that they are SPYING on and racking up debts for our children and their children!

They need to go! It is time for us to clean house in our government and bring in new and younger, more rational people to represent us! The ones presently have damn near destroyed this country and have shamed us to the whole world! And we MUST DEMAND TERM LIMITS for all appointed positions! By not doing that they become too comfortable in their jobs making it to easy for them to be corrupt!

This has been going on since 2006. If you people didn't know about it, shame on you. Open your eyes.

Normally appointed positions turn over every 4 or 8 years....Some even sooner since the military rotates and promotes every 2 years or so.. but longevity in an appointed position usually depends upon the the general election. Personally, I believe there are some damned good dedicated senior professionals working in civil service....and they actually drive the government. Political appointees are just resume building for a good lobbyist job when they leave government! Some agencies need to be completely eliminated, some are so redundant, they require complete reorganization and some need to be added to handle emerging technologies ....Oh we'll. 🙂

UPDATE apparently Ecuador, via Russia then Cuba. Hey Wikileaks, which one of those is actually"democratic"? I'm not counting Ecuador, I'm pretty sure OJ could have moved there if he came up with the bribe money.

Folks, if you post it on Facebook or Twitter, or even CNN TJI, it is NOT a private conversation.

This is what some people do not get. Social media is not private. People can get fired over what they post on social media sites. People may not get hired because of what they post on social media sites. Time for the people to grow up and take accountability for their own words/actions.

Right. Every time we are looking to arrest someone, let's just send ONE cop or agent after him. We have to keep it fair.

This has been on going a whole lot longer than that @ Jennessea! Since watergate. Im not so opposed at them doing it, im more opposed to the LIEING AND DECIETFUL way theyve done it! And then to learn now that they are FUNDING Al Queada and the Taliban while all this time telling us we are at war with terrorists! That makes me absolutely livid! And we have to borrow money from China? Seriously? What the hell can they possibly be thinking??
