Discord, details flow after Zimmerman trial
The George Zimmerman murder trial is over, but details from the case continue to emerge at a dizzying pace.
Several jurors have spoken out after the verdict. The prosecution's key witness has been offered a full ride to college. And Attorney General Eric Holder blasted "stand your ground" laws but gave no hint about whether Zimmerman will face civil rights charges.

I call for a full blown national protests on Sunday July 21st 2013 against George Zimmerman.
I think the preoccupation with this Zimmerman case by certain individuals and news outlets is rediculous and inane. If you live in Florida, get your legislature to amend the law.

Not all Stand your ground laws are equal. Some states limit SYG defense to homes and autos. Florida specifically allows your "ground" to all places you can legally be and leaves it up to the local court whether or not you could have avoided violence by walking away.
Meanwhile in other news. Nine black men were shot dead by another black man in Chicago last night. Where is the outrage on that?

@ les, there may be plenty of outrage if hes prosecuted and is found guilty after zimmerman is free.

Why is everyone still hung up on the SYG laws when Zimmerman DIDN'T use the SYG law as a defense at all?
It makes my mind reel.
SYG was part of the law the jury had to consider as directed by the court and the laws in Florida. Additionally Zimmerman's defense team is considering requesting a SYG hearing for civil Immunity.

He already has civil immunity because Florida doesn't allow civil cases to be taken up for the same charge as criminal cases.

Okay they deleted my post. TM's autopsy showed none of that, just a very small amount of THC that was so old it was almost out of his system. No liver damage, none of that. While I tend to agree with your philosophy of self sufficiency, you gotta realize that state and federal governments have provided the "hand out" in the form of the infrastructure construction that allows you to use roads, bridges, and highways to market what you produce and bring to your door items you don't. The levies and dams that keep keep the gulf coast from washing away and so on are part of this government "hand out" you claim you don't take. You may have paid some taxes to help accomplish some of these projects as all citizens do, but I can assure you, all the tax payers in America paid their share too!
