Bay Area transit workers threaten strike

Transit workers in California's Bay Area announced Thursday that they would go on strike Sunday at midnight local time, if no progress is made in contract negotiations.

Unions accused Bay Area Rapid Transit management of holding up progress at the bargaining table.

A BART official said there was no reason for the strike and it would make an effort to come to an agreement to avoid a service stoppage.

Give them the money! Califonia has a twenty-five billion deficit this year, two hundred billion in unfunded public penions, and Jerry nutjob Brown is piling on 68 mill for rapid rail and 24 mill for water infrastructure! Woohoo, party party – let's tax and spend and party to prosperity. Just let in more illegal aliens – they'll stimulate the economy. Or more f00d stamps. Pelosi told me those will stimulate the economy.

Oh, yes, because rail and water infastructure is horrific. You're right. I don't see you complaining when those blue states are psying for the red states welfare. You're happy to cash your gubmint check, aren't you? How's that "right to work" at McDonald's job working out for you?

You apparently are a fanatic ideologue unwilling to face the obvious reality that socialist economic policies don't work – never have in history, never will. You want to blame corrupt individuals instead of admitting you're wrong. Detroit is the inevitable endstate of what happens when dimocrats get everything they want. Your unwillingness to face facts makes you ... irrational.

Former Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick owes Detroit millions of dollars. And the state made an agreement with Detroit a few years back that if they discontinued city income tax the state would subsidize it. And they never paid Detroit that money promised after Detroit quit the tax. And the current Governor was just going to use that money for a new bridge to canada instead of paying money owed to Detroit per their agreement.

Oh and @ Mercantile, Detroit has been abused by politicians for years! Have you ever been to Detroit btw? There are some beautiful areas in Detroit. Also, i would like to add, they are presently filming Transporter 4 in Detroit. Just as they did 1 and 3 of the series. So much for New Orleans stealing the film industry eh @ hamsta lol!

Also, @ Mercantile, wth does your "2 parent in the home" comment have to do with ANYTHING being discussed here??? I think sometimes its better to have a 1 parent home than to have constant parental turmoil! That is not healthy for children to be subjected too.
