Calif. broadens transgender students' rights

California has become the first state in the nation to allow transgendered students to choose which school bathrooms and locker rooms to use and which sport teams to join based on their gender identity.

Gov. Jerry Brown signed Assembly Bill No. 1266 into law Monday. The law will go in to effect January 1.

The law is the nation's first that specifically requires equal access to public school facilities and activities based on gender identity, though some states have general policies to the same effect, said Shannon Price Minter, legal director of the National Center for Lesbian Rights - one of several groups backing the legislation.

How about designating three rest rooms? Four?
Perhaps there should be a fifth area, marked "Don't Care."

Many bathrooms are unisex already. I don't care where people go, as long as it's not in the hallways.

I've always wondered why an average simple little 2 or 3 bedroom ranch home in California, with 1000 sq.ft. sells for $2, 000, 000 , when California is expected to slide into the Pacific? Then when it comes to this stuff, it doesn't surprise me, when someone is just trying to keep in step with the Comnunists that "underwrite" this nation.

Yes, because equal protection under our Constitution is abhorrent.

This law is an attack on females. It is driven by hate and should be responded to as an attack. Every parent who cares about their kids should keep them out of California schools until this terrible law is repealed. Sane people should not be FORCED by the state to pretend to go along with the delusions of crazy people and girls/women should not be FORCED by the state to disrobe with males in the room. Just no. Absolutely not.

It's a good thing they wont be. If you did your research you would understand that. Being trans* is an actual thing, not insanity and not a delusion. This law is making sure that what you are saying is going to happen, actually stops happening.
