The National Football League has reached a "historic" settlement with thousands of retired players who accused the league of deliberately concealing the dangers of head trauma, the case's mediator said Thursday.
The deal calls for the NFL to pay $765 million to fund medical exams, concussion-related compensation, medical research for retired NFL players and their families and litigation expenses, according to a court document filed in U.S. District Court in Philadelphia.
The agreement still needs to be approved by the judge assigned to the case, which involved more than 4,500 former players.

$765 million is an awful lot of money.
It would seem to me that theses players knew the inherent risks of football when they decided to engage in the game. I fail to see how this is possibly the NFL's fault, but then I have common sense.
Smokers knew the inherent risks of tobacco and did it anyway. Marijuana is worse and now it's increasingly legalized. In leftist America, plaintiffs have no personal responsibility.
The difference between the smokers of yesteryear is that the tobacco companies actively covered it up for years. Surely you know the difference between long term cause and effect and an immediate injury such as a concussion. And this isn't about politics, but I certainly hope you feel better having vented for no discernible reason. Also, please do cite the studies that confirm you marijuana contention I doubt you can. Right fright is tedious and irrelevant.
Protect your brain. It's the only one you can ever have.
Pro player comment blocked. The league should have done more, was the jist of it.
Sounds reasonable.
I see CNN has Bonzo on delete duty.
Woah, that is a lot of money! Not sure if I agree.
