Ariel Castro found hanged in prison cell

Ariel Castro who was sentenced to life plus 1,000 years for kidnapping, raping and holding captive three women was found hanging in his prison cell Tuesday night.

Officials found Castro, 52, hanging in his cell at the Correctional Reception Center in Orient, Ohio, about 9:20 p.m., the state's Department of Corrections said.

Prison medical staff tried to revive him but failed.

    Good riddance. Perhaps the women can sleep easier knowing their tormentor is dead.

    You did the right thing, Ariel. The State of Ohio couldn't deliver the sentence you earned, so you gave it to yourself. And gave substantial savings to the taxpayer. I wonder if issuing shoe laces to all Califrnia inmates would help reduce prison overcrowding.

    Yes it is very good, saves the Ohio taxpayers alot of money. But makes you wonder WHY the plea deal to escape the DP In the 1st place?
