13 children injured after ride loses power at Connecticut festival

An accident on a children's swing ride at a festival in Norwalk, Connecticut, on Sunday injured 13 children, some seriously, according to police.

The ride "apparently lost power causing the children on the ride to forcefully fall to the ground," Norwalk police said on the department's Facebook page.

Most of the injuries were minor, police said, but "several" were seriously injured, "including two which appeared to be the most serious."

I don't trust carnival rides. Too much can go wrong with the constant dismantling.

Do you mean "psycho", JR? You're familiar with that, being one yourself. You're nothing if not mind-numbingly predictable. What a bore.

incidents have been happening. And to think that its mostly children who flock to these rides.
Perhaps making these rides more & more thrilling is overriding safety.

Even the ones that remain in place year round have safety issues. Regular inspection is a must.
