Syria Islamist rebels seize town

An al Qaeda-linked rebel group has wrested control of the historic Christian town of Maaloula from regime forces, opposition groups said Sunday.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the hardline Islamist rebels of the al-Nusra Front seized control Saturday night.
Videos posted on YouTube in recent days showed fighting between rebels and government forces in the tiny sleepy town, an hour's drive from the capital Damascus.

The rebels knew that the USA is considering punishing al-Assad's government for using Sarin.
The rebels add their taking control of Christians to the bargain.
Is the USA still bound to support rebels who demonstrate their unwillingness to allow any other religion to exist? I don't think so.

Is a civilian jet airliner a "weapon of mass destruction" when flown into a skyscraper?
Nobody imagined that my city would be attacked that way on 9/11, so "jet passenger plane" may not have been listed as a forbidden weapon by any assembly of nations. I don't know, so was it?

Syria gave it up; a good propaganda victory for those waving the red herring of Al Qaeda for letting Assad off the hook while ignoring Hezbollah, which is like comparing the Cub Scouts to the Special Forces.

If you don't demonstrate to tyrants that there are consequences for using Weapons Of Mass Destruction, what's next? By turning away from the open air gas chambers of Syria, the U.S. is voting to let North Korea off the Leash with their nukes; for Iran to finish developing their nukes; and for Russia to back them up with China's help; and for their surrogates to use their weapons with impunity. The U.S. will refuse to stop these characters again and again, until the international influence of the U.S. will weaken to the point of collapse; and the Home of the Free and Brave will become the Home of the Enslaved and Cowered!

It was an eye opener to learn of Iran's sinister use of Hezbollah to subvert and subjugate Syria, Lebanon, Egypt, Bahrain and Iraq to form the Shia Crescent; and all to distract the U.S. while they perfect the Imam Hussein Atomic Bomb. When Iran has their nuke, they will hold the World hostage by threatening the Arabian Gulf countries, which pump 60% of the World's oil production; and is the key to Iran's World Domination. And the end of the West as we know it; unless Israel and Saudi Arabia intervene as partners to stop them!

These truths are woven into Amazon Kindle's new thriller The Bahrain Protocol; have a good read, and hope for the best, but prepare for the worst.

Soo, we're helping?? These "Islamists" are the ones Obama wants to help by striking Assad, this is beyond ridiculous. If he says anything about 9/11 in the same speech as his Syria pitch we'll know he's desperate.

Just leave Syria alone. We have nothing to gain from this conflict and the loss of human lives from our actions in such a conflict would be monstrous.

A "revolution" does not always lead to something better, just because "rebels" (with simple farm tools) attack a government. Sometimes the rebels–even religious rebels–achieve a nightmare.
A fine example is what rebels in Iran accomplished by toppling the Shah.

I sincerely hope that the rebels leave the Christians alone; Assad used to protect them. How safe do you think the Alawites and the Christians will be if Al Qaeda comes to power? Be careful what one wishes for.

Assad never protected christians. We need to be more responsible as to what we post.
