Syria Islamist rebels seize town

An al Qaeda-linked rebel group has wrested control of the historic Christian town of Maaloula from regime forces, opposition groups said Sunday.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the hardline Islamist rebels of the al-Nusra Front seized control Saturday night.
Videos posted on YouTube in recent days showed fighting between rebels and government forces in the tiny sleepy town, an hour's drive from the capital Damascus.

    Lmao you are correct...you are NOT Hope, so you should quit trying to be Hope. I didn't believe it was you at first but you gave yourself away yesterday. And the clincher of course was the fact that Hope doesn't live in NY and then of course the animosity to banasy was another clue. The funny thing tho ive always kinda enjoyed reading YOUR posts. That is until you decided to take on a dif name, one that was already takin.

    And the most awful part of your behavior was the treatment you displayed @ saywhat, who has been nothing but kind to you ALWAYS! He did not deserve that in any way, shape or form. And for that you should be ashamed!!!

    @icansee
    your moral outrage at the use of chemical weapons in Syria (by who?) is well placed.
    Where was our world's collective conscience when 20 million gallons of chemicals was dumped on Vietnam between 1962-71?

    Where was it when Saddam gassed Iranians in 1988?
    White Phosphorous used on Palestinians during 2008-2009/
    Depleted uranium used in artillery shells during Iraq war?

    It has become eminently clear by now that AlQaeda is the leading force among Syrian rebels who are mostly foreign fighters.
    So what exactly a limited strike on Syria achieve and who would it favor?
