Russia's foreign minister Monday called for international talks in Moscow to promote a peace process for Syria and avert an American military strike.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said his Syrian counterpart, Foreign Minister Walid Moallem, "said quite clearly Damascus is ready to participate in a positive way" in negotiations.
Lavrov blamed U.S.-backed rebels in Syria for preventing a peace conference in Geneva. He said the Russian government would work to rebuild support for that idea.

Has it been proven that Syria used the CW? For I do not understand why Assad would do such a foolhardy thing, given his conventional weapons were doing the job efficiently. It seems a little to convenient to me.

let history speak...with sarin on the loose and extremiss doing a practice run on its own citizens, we know that this will not remain in the syrian borders...it is just a matter of when...i am with president Obie on this one...i say to DESTROY assad's cache...NATO should care less if nukes are in his cache mix...that assad's problem...and his neighbors who gave it to him....that way noBODY moves up the political ladder and as a bonus: rebel and regime still can fight it out...checkmate everyone!
