Police: Detroit inmate who stabbed deputy captured

A Detroit man, who stabbed an officer outside a courtroom and escaped wearing the officer's uniform, has been captured, authorities said.
The inmate, Derreck White, who also uses the name Abraham Pearson, was spotted walking in a Detroit neighborhood Monday night, said Wayne County Sheriff Benny Napoleon.
Authorities said White attacked a deputy with a sharpened comb in front of two other inmates inside a holding cell at the Frank Murphy Hall Monday morning.

Detroit was oversold on the automobile as a mass transit option and built a freeway system through the city that destroyed neighborhoods. Sparkling new suburban communities drew off the affluence and the interstate highway system made it easier for commuter to go into and out of the city. When the industrial and commercial base contracted, Detroit became a place to pass through rather than to go to. And the industrialists that promoted this automobile based transportation system were Republican.

Wealthy Republicans make the messes, move away taking their resources with them, and leave others to clean-up after them. Then they have the audacity to blame the ones left behind.
