Al-Assad: Syria rebels may attack inspectors

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has suggested that some outside governments may urge rebels to attack international inspectors sent into war-fractured country to secure its arsenal of chemical weapons.

"There might be countries that might ask the terrorists to attack the inspectors to prevent them from doing their job, and blame the Syrian government," he said in an interview aired Sunday by Chinese state broadcaster CCTV.

"At this point, this remains just a possibility and we cannot know until the inspectors arrive in Syria," al-Assad said.

    @Jeff
    that we will not do. Gas is our staple diet.
    And why would we or Russia want to level Syria. the trouble makers are elsewhere?
    3 billion are peanuts compared to hundreds of billions of saudi contracts with us. The other trouble maker and our ally.

    The diplomacy of President Obama seems to be paying off and what does congress do? Puts a budget thru that defunds Obamacare. lol The old party is running out of ideas. As I have said if you have not read Obamacare you really cannot vote with the republicans. Vote democrat and tell the old party, voting on a law 42 times, is not productive. They are out of step with what America needs. Attention getters will get theirs. I think they are mad that the Pres. is doing diplomacy and not war. Halburton and contractors not able to milk the taxpayers.

    Note to President Obama and Mr. Kerry, fly overs are mandatory, verification and destruction of chemicals non-negotiable.

    Yes, destruction of Chemical weapons and nuclear weapons should be non-negotiable. Unfortunately its not. Some can have them others cannot is not going to work.
    For a non-WMD M.East, it has to apply to all.

      Saywhat is heads and shoulders above any tawdry little nothing troll. Do try harder to instill your Sharia mindset into Syria. It's working. They're going there.
