Syrian rebels reject interim government, embrace Sharia

A collection of some of Syria's most powerful rebel brigades have rejected a Western-backed opposition group that announced the creation of an interim government in exile this month.

The 13 rebel groups, led by the al Qaeda-linked al-Nusra Front, also called on supporters of the Syrian opposition to embrace Sharia law "and make it the sole source of legislation."

The move appeared to sideline the flagging National Syrian Coalition, which recently announced the formation of an interim government in exile led by Ahmad Tomeh, a dentist and dissident from the Syrian city of Deir Ezzor.

If there is any clearer reason why we should stay out of Syria, this is it.

From day one it was clear that the 'rebels' had nothing to do with the aspirations of Syrians. They were inducted into Syria on a political agenda of countries opposed to Assad regime. funded, armed and trained by them.

Do you really think that political backstabbing by two candidates is pertinent to Syria?

Again, a contested fight for the mayoral race in NYC is really not pertinent to the conversation about Syria. Any more that Todd Akin's views about legitimate rape isn't. Or the price of tea in the A&P.

We watched as it all played out and let it get out of hand. A mess, as has been Iraq,Afghanistan, yemen and Libya.

A handful who germinated on their so proclaimed 'mission' of ousting foreign forces from arab lands, have been allowed to grow into a menace in Africa & M.East- AlQaeda.
Thanks to the policies of past decade which continue.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure also that sharia law was not what the Syrian people had in mind when first they supported the uprising. But once you open Pandora's box the evils released can never be returned.

Maybe so banasy, but I just can't imagine the common person (other than the males, as that is who it would favor) wanting to live under such restrictive rules. Well, I hope they'll be happy with their new found oppressive life style.

The world now suffers full time thanks to the foolishly arrogant, profiteering and dubious agenda initiated by the Bush-Cheney-War Party cartel with the 9/11 lever.

These handful who were made into force to reckon with by those who ruled us during the post 9/11 era of infamy, could have been eliminated by focused, surgical covert ops at the time , in Afghanistan.
