Navy – Air Force football game on

Are you ready for some football? Not so fast!

The Navy-Air Force game is on. But there's no word yet on whether 24 other weekend athletic events at service academies will take place, thanks to the government shutdown.

Even the Navy-Air Force game practically became a matter of national security. Though the game was sold out, the two sides had to wait for the Defense Department's greenlight.

A senior department official said the game was allowed to go forward because it involved all non-budgeted funds, and thus was not affected by the shutdown.

"shut down threatens NSA spying" Intel chief
"shut down threatens military aid to Israel" State deptt.
    Two biggest concerns for Americans.

Just another slap in the face to the military! Its so nice to see that Congress has no respect and absolutely no appreciation for the men and women who sacrifice so much including possibly their very lives for this country!

HERE is what gets me: Govt. shutdown? WHOOPS, now lets start making "excuse's" to keep certain things open?
And NO I am not talking about football games, that, for me, is NOT part of the problem. BUT, you now have D.C. wanting exemption & others demanding the same! For me, it is either YES or NO! PREGNANT: Either you are or not!
EVERYONE is involved in this mess and I am sure can come up with some very good reasons they should be exempt!
IF exemptions start then whatever your reason for shutting down was, has now become a worthless argument!
