Shutdown: Obama cancels Asia trip

U.S. foreign policy takes the latest hit as the government shutdown enters its fourth day.

With his focus on the brewing domestic crisis, the White House canceled President Barack Obama's trip to the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in Bali, Indonesia.

"The president made this decision based on the difficulty in moving forward with foreign travel in the face of a shutdown, and his determination to continue pressing his case that Republicans should immediately allow a vote to reopen the government," a statement from the White House said.

Secretary of State John Kerry will lead the U.S. delegation in Asia.

Yes there are some sources that do say that @ hamsta. Just one thing, they aren't reputable sources. Thats the problem with googling everything you have to verify that the information you get is accurate. And when you don't and you start repeating it as fact it only makes you look foolish.

Exactly, chrissy. Most of the sites I saw were blogs...by individuals wanting their bias confirmed. So they do it themselves. And gullible people, who want their own bias confirmed, go "aHA!"

I was thinking about what you said about that article you read about "bunker" types that want to overthrow the government and how you were implying the Tea Party was that type. The FACTS are the Tea Party recognizes government is nescessary just not bloated overtaxing tyrannical government such as ObaMe is demonstrating by trying to regulate every detail of your life, tax you for the air you breathe and push 80 and 90 year old veterans around. The Occupy protestor's are IN FACT those "bunker" mentality people that have been proven to be socialists, communists and anarchists when they attempted to bomb a bridge and overthrow the government. As usual you are suffering from a guilty conscience and trying to defend it with gossip and innuendo.

I was responding to your link about marshal law. Nothing more, nothing less.
If you made the leap to Tea Party, that's on you, not I. I implied nothing at all. Read my post again.
Please do focus. You're all over the place.

Tax the air? Whaaaa? Push vets around? Whaaa? Still persisting in the Memorial lie? And I believe that the guys who tried to blow up the bridge were anarchists. Do you still consider yourself one? I hope not. Those are the bunker types I was talking about.

And do please try and and point out where I have EVER used gossip and innuendo to back up anything I have ever said. I use facts. As you well know when I prove you wrong. I understand your favorite way to debate is to insult, but that's not how I operate.

Im not IMPLYING anything @ hamsta thats the kind of thing YOU do! I don't know whether she is or isn't, having never met her! And since you've not met her either you aren't a reliable source! Especially with the track record you have! You have a tendacy to say things and then get all offended when we don't believe it to be gospel!

The antics of this Congress dominated by the mindset, attributes of which @Hamsta in his hate(haste?) like 'the end justifies the means' attributes mistakenly to 'liberals' prove who always drives us to the brink.

The govt shut down forced on this nation and the looming budget crisis is indeed worrisome to say the least. But it is a flat out catastrophe for tea party Repubs. The disapproval rating for the tparty is all time high.
their devilish endeavors to 'bring the US govt to its knees" are paving the way for their regrets. Americans are now fully cognizant of their agenda.

Contrary to your belief ObaMe-s approval rating is sinking fast, and he keeps sinking it more every time he orders memorials and national parks, including private owned and operated parks to be closed and barrycaded. The newsest ones are Mount Rushmore, even barrycading the shoulder of roads so people can't pull over to take pictures. This kind of behavior has only been shown by dictators such as Hitler, Hussein, Stalin, Castro, etc... Etc... I'm just waiting for the FEMA camps, gas chambers and mass graves.

Rushmore is a national park. Of course it's barricaded. The shutdown has consequences; this is one of them. Stop acting like you didn't have any idea this would be one of them, and save your faux outrage.

"this shut down would delay security aid to Israel" Kerry. The Congressional disapproval of US-Iran diplomatic initiative is weighing in on this admn. Sad.

And good grief @ hamsta wannabe, you act as if the bloated government trying to involve theirselves in every aspect of our lives is a NEW thing?!? Thats been going on for decades! And the initial purpose of the occupy movement was to stop the bank bailouts. And yea you're right it did end up being something totally different which is why you rarely hear anything about them anymore. And yes again, thats a good thing!

Lmao @ banasy he does babble on alot doesn't he? Sounds like someone talking in their sleep and not making much sense. And wasn't that the militia that tried that? The USs version of the Taliban! And didn't they say that federal parks etc would be closed due to the shut down? Thats what the GOTP wanted so goes to show, be careful what you wish for. Lol

Chrissy, the FG told everyone well in advance that the parks and monuments would be closed. Why this comes as a surprise to anyone is beyond me. I guess they just didn't get that memo, or decided bit to read it because it came from the FG in the first place. Absurd.
