It isn't that the 42-year-old man had done anything wrong to infuriate Elytte Barbour and his wife.
The couple – married three weeks - just wanted to kill someone together, police said.
And Troy LaFerrara happened to be the unlucky one.
The Barbours are accused of luring LaFerrara through a sex ad on Craigslist, and stabbing and strangling him to death.
Barbour told police he and his wife had tried to kill others. But the plans didn't work out.
"So," police said, "they continued to try to find someone."
Killing in one form or another seems to have taken possession of us humans like an obsession lately( say during the past decade).Senseless killing that is. Or perhaps it has been like this always.
As for this couple, capital punishment.
sigh...how many couples' relationships are foundations are built upon and at the expense of lies and betrayals...on hurts and pain others...maybe itsah a sign of the time!
Waiting for the old "insanity" plea, or some court appointed shrink & lawyer saying that they are "mentally challenged" and therefore not responsible for their actions? WHO CARES? Just reading the ariticle it shows premeditation, planned, and carried out! YES, to the death penalty for these two!

Again: this reminds me of the Paul Bernado/Karla Homolka case.
