Uncertainty after North Korean execution

As the shock sinks in of North Korea's extraordinary announcement of the execution of leader Kim Jong Un's uncle and former protector, government officials and analysts are trying to decipher what the brutal move means.

The ruthless disposal of Jang Song Thaek - Kim's uncle by marriage who had, until recently, been regarded as the second-most powerful figure in the secretive, nuclear-armed nation - has serious implications for North Korea, its neighbors and the United States, observers said.

But exactly what is going on inside the notoriously opaque North Korea regime remains as murky as ever.

I think the implications might possibly be somewhat serious. If Dennis Rodman was smart he maybe shouldn't go back over there. And if they decide to im prison him and the exhibition team he is organizing, how will the US govt react?

The Us government shouldn't react at all. Dennis and team know full well the situation in N. Korea and if they still decide to go, they should be required to sign a waiver stating that they are doing this of their own accord and the US is not in any way obligated to ensure their safety.

Kim is cleaning house. 6 out of 7 of his father's advisors are gone now...he is getting a little reckless. The US should watch him, but not for the Rodman reason, but for the fact that NK has nuclear weapons and doesn't seem to posess the same restraint his father did.

I know banasy. From what I read, paranoia seems to be a big driving factor in his movements. One of the thoughts behind his latest move indicates his belief of his uncle creating a rival force within the military. Bananas and Froot Loops. The breakfast of Kim.

Paranoia seems to be a big driving force behind his purge. It was purported that his uncle was trying to create a rival force inside the military. (at least in Kims mind) It's possible that he could be so fearful that he feels the need to remove those who would possibly represent the biggest challenge to his rule.

Paranoia has always driven that dynasty. With good cause; ruthless begets ruthless.

You think he's going to take himself out? He's the one that ordered his uncle's execution.

Good morning.Agree with sentiments expressed by you good folks.Situation, given the unpredictability and secrecy defining N.K regimes is tricky at best.
Caution but non-interference is the way to go.
As for Rodman, he knows what he is doing, I hope.
