World update: Leaders meet over Ecuador crisis

Coup attempt? South American leaders are meeting in Argentina to discuss the political situation in Ecuador. The president there, Rafael Correa, has accused police of an attempted coup.

‘Kidnapped children are free’: Authorities in Nigeria have recovered 15 schoolchildren, who were whisked away by kidnappers earlier this week, a police spokesman said Friday.

Musharraf’s new political party: Former Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf, once one of the United States' strongest allies in the fight against terrorism, launches a new political party as he ramps up for what looks like another run at the top job.

World update: U.S. warns Europe of terror attacks

Official: German citizen details plot: U.S. officials warn of potential "Mumbai-style" terror plots across Europe in which gunmen would create as many casualties and as much chaos as possible against soft targets.

Kremlin vs. mayor: Ousted Moscow Mayor Yuri Luzhkov has accused the Kremlin of promoting the repression of freedom of expression after he was sacked by Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, Russian media report.

World update: Israelis intercept aid boat to Gaza
