Incredible well rescues

We received harrowing video of a toddler in China who fell nearly 40 feet into an abandoned dry well. The 2-year-old was rescued by firefighters who had to pump oxygen into the well because the air was so thin at the depth the child was located. The dramatic episode brought back memories of the incredible rescue of Baby Jessica here in the U.S.

TV anchor gives interview after on-air dog bite

A Denver news anchor is speaking out for the first time after being severely injured when a dog bit her on the face during a TV interview.  Earlier this month, Kyle Dyer was interviewing the owner of an 85-pound Argentine Mastiff who was rescued from icy waters. While petting the dog’s face, Dyer leaned in to kiss his nose when the dog lurched forward and bit her face.

Gotta Watch: Bacon Mania

What food could you see being added to just about anything and making it better? If your answer is bacon, you are not alone. Wondering why bacon has become so popular, we reached out to Kat Kinsman, managing editor of CNN’s Eatocracy blog.

“Bacon, the food, is, full-stop delicious, but so are plenty of other foods. Bacon, the concept, has taken on a life of its own.” It's shorthand, Kinsman said, for, “Hey, I’m a food freak, but I don’t take myself too seriously.”

"Pork, fat and salt are pretty much the antithesis of what any nutritionist would counsel you to eat" Kinsman said.

But, as Pete Wells quoted a bacon maker’s wife as saying in his 2003 James Beard Award-winning essay, "Captain Bacon," “And if I can't have bacon on my salad, I just don't care about it."

From a bacon-wrapped pork dish to the fan-favorite Bakon Vodka, we’ve got your craving covered with today’s Gotta Watch.

Gotta Watch: Racing with donuts, beer

To many of us, completing a running race is tough enough. But for others, just running the race isn't enough. Sometimes you've got to add something fun into the mix.  In today's Gotta Watch, we look at three races that won't be featured in this summer's London Olympics.

Five miles, 12 donuts – We did the math on this charity event involving Krispy Kreme donuts and a five-mile run. Participants run 2.5 miles, then have to eat a dozen donuts before resuming their run.  Think you could complete this race?

Gotta Watch: News making news

As a journalist, the goal is to never become part of the story. The same goes for reporters and anchors.. deliver the news, but do not become the news. This becomes impossible when the studio you’re working at has other plans in store. From overhead fires to false alarms, you Gotta Watch these studio slip-ups.

False fire alarm- A journalist who's taken on world leaders and reported from battlefields may have had his toughest assignment yet. During last night's "NBC Nightly News" broadcast, anchor Brian Williams was live in the studio when the fire alarm kept going off.  What's most impressive, the veteran anchorman wasn't even fazed.
