Snowmobile scare – A group of buddies in Washington State headed out for a fun day on snowmobiles but got a major scare, instead. One man was caught in an avalanche and was unable to move or breathe under the snow. His friend captured the whole thing on his helmet cam.Â
Since the cruise liner Costa Concordia ran aground off the coast of Italy nearly a week ago, each day brings a new twist to the story. At least 11 people are dead and 21 are missing. The captain was arrested for abandoning the ship as others died. The terrifying passenger accounts of finding lifeboats evoke comparisons to the Titanic. The passenger — Georgia Ananias was one of the last survivors on board. She described the event as “everything you'd see on the Titanic and worse”. One family, thinking they were about to die, asked her to save their child and handed their baby to her. Georgia looked at her husband, thinking it was the end, and returned the child to the family. Apple attack — Apple’s loyal followers love to have the latest product. In Beijing today, fans braved subzero temperatures to get the iPhone 4S. The store decided not to open in the morning, citing safety concerns over the large crowd. The throng got unruly and even threw rocks and eggs at the store. Police were forced to break up the fray. Apple has now delayed the launch of the 4S in Beijing because of the incident.

Fur coat follies – Police say one woman tried to steal a fur coat by stuffing it into her underwear. She was arrested for shoplifting, but she was in jail for three days before she told cops that she still had the coat on her. Reality TV star Kim Kardashian filed for divorce Monday from her husband, NBA player Kris Humphries, after just 72 days of marriage. The E! special “Kim’s Fairytale Wedding” that aired on October 9 and 10 (and several days since then) detailed their lavish wedding and drew 10.5 million viewers.
