Carbon monoxide leak sends 39 to hospital

A carbon monoxide leak at the Merchant Marine Academy sent 39 people to area hospitals for evaluation early Monday morning, police said.

Jet Blue flight hits strong turbulence; 7 injured

Severe turbulence contributed to seven injuries - six related to the head, back or neck and one from a severe coffee burn - on Sunday night aboard a Jet Blue flight from San Juan, Puerto Rico, Boston's Logan Airport spokesman Phil Orlandella said.

Flight 852 landed in Boston, its intended destination around 10 p.m., about 20 minutes ahead of schedule, according to the airline's website.

Four bodies found near New York beach

Police, who were searching for a missing person, found four bodies near a beach in Long Island, New York.

The bodies could have been in the area for as long as a month, police said.

Officers were searching for Shannon Gilbert, a 24-year-old New Jersey woman who was reported missing, the Suffolk County Police Department said.

The bodies were strewn around about a quarter-mile stretch of Oak Beach, police said.
